LAT’s
founding dates to 1992, when a group of people with a common love
for the outdoors and for working wiht youth decided to combine their
forces and create an organization dedicated to youth outdoor work.
How did we choose our name?
Laboratory – we wanted to
create an organization that would be a training ground for outdoor
youth sports, a place for learning and experimentation
Active – this encompasses the physical fitness
aspect of our work, be it hiking, skiing, rock climbing, or orienteering.
Thus, in addition to appreciating nature, youth develop their physical
health and fitness.
Tourism – we conduct our work in nature,
and this part reflects our love of travelling. It also reflects
our connection to eco-tourism, where tourism is conducted in natural
settings in an environmentally responsible way. Our members enhance
their appreciation for nature and their respect for the interdependence
of humans and nature. |
